Technology and Science Minister Felix Mutati has commended the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) for embracing digital transformation in enhancing tax compliance and facilitating trade.
He says digital technology also improves citizen’ engagement
Mr. Mutati was speaking today at the Invest-Zambia International Conference(IZIC), currently underway in Lusaka.
Meanwhile the Zambian Revenue Authority says it is working closely with the Ministry of Finance and National Planning and the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) in the implementation of tax incentives for local and international investors.
ZRA Commissioner General Dingani Banda says this is to promote equitable participation in the economy.
“To improve efficiency and coordination in the implementation and monitoring of tax incentives, ZRA, ZDA and the Ministry of Finance and National Planning are in discussion to automate the tax incentives process in Zambia,” Mr. Banda said.
He also noted that Government had reduced the Income (profit) Tax Rates for activities such as agro-processing, chemical and organic manufacturing of fertilizer and farming to 10 and 15% respectively compared to the standard rate of 30% to promote economic growth and diversification.
Mr. Banda was part of a panel discussion at the Invest Zambia International Conference.
