The Corporate Strategic Plan 2016- 2018

The Zambia Revenue Authority has in place a Corporate Strategic Plan (CSP) which will run for the period 2016 to 2018. Among the main focus areas as prescribed by the MTEF is enhancement of domestic revenue mobilisation. This CSP has outlined a number of specific strategic initiatives that will assist in the achievement of this goal, which include: encouraging increased use of e-payments by taxpayers; introducing an IT solution (electronic cash registers) for managing collection of VAT from cash traders; and building capacity for specialised audit skills to counter transfer pricing and base erosion; among other initiatives.

The CSP is based on the Balanced Score Card model and has the following perspectives:

·         Financial Results SO1: To optimise revenue collection.

·         Business Processes SO2:  To improve operational efficiency and develop infrastructure.

·         Employee Satisfaction SO3: To enhance the professionalism and productivity of the Human Capital.

·         Customer Satisfaction SO4: To provide accurate, courteous, timely and professional services to internal and external customers.
