FILE RETURNS – ZRA URGES GOVERNMENT MINISTRIES

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has convened a workshop for finance professionals and other officials entrusted with financial management in Government ministries.

The workshop organised in Lusaka, is an initiative to improve tax compliance within Government departments, with emphasis on timely filing of tax returns, timely and accurate payment of taxes and regular reconciliation of tax accounts.

The workshop also aims to build a practical and cooperative approach that supports finance departments in meeting their statutory and audit requirements.

Officially opening the workshop, this morning, ZRA Commissioner – Domestic Taxes Richard Kapasa said consistent compliance with tax obligations demonstrates strong financial governance, reinforces transparency and enhances public confidence in Government institutions.

In a speech read for him by Director – Large Taxpayer Office (LTO) Deborah Bwembya, Mr. Kapasa reminded that ZRA through the Large Taxpayer Office has established a Government Liaison Unit dedicated exclusively to supporting government ministries on tax compliance matters.

The workshop included tax education sessions on various tax matters.
