Kansanshi Mine PLC has been recognized with highest national contributor award at the 2025 Taxpayer Appreciation Day organized by the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA).
This recognition reflects Kansanshi’s contributions to the economy, its commitment to fulfilling tax obligations and support for essential public services.
This year’s TAD was graced by Finance and National Planning Minister, Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane, MP.
Dr. Musokotwane emphasized the importance of nurturing compliant taxpayers while cultivating more taxpayers.
“ Without taxpayers it becomes impossible to fund essential services and creating a favorable business environment,” Dr. Musokotwane said.
And ZRA Board Chairperson, Dr. Caleb Fundanga, reiterated the importance of taxpayer contributions in building a better Zambia for all.
“Zambia’s future will increasingly depend on Zambians themselves and tonight we honor those who make that future possible” he said.
He further commended ZRA on the Smart Invoice initiative, which transforms standard invoices into opportunities for engagement and encourages citizens to recognize the direct impact of their tax contributions.
Dr. Fundanga also noted the importance of improving taxpayer compliance rates as achieving revenue targets will require a culture of understanding and cooperation between the authority and taxpayers.
Meanwhile, ZRA Commissioner General, Dingani Banda highlighted the contributions that taxes make to society, pointing out their role in funding essential public services such as education, healthcare and infrastructure development.
“A well-informed and engaged taxpayer community is essential to this vision. Through education, collaboration and innovation, we will gradually close the tax knowledge gap and improve both compliance and trust.” he stated.
