ZRA COMMISSIONER GENERAL TOURS DATA LAB

Following the launch of the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Research Data lab, on Tuesday 26th August, 2025, the Commissioner General, Dingani Banda has toured the facility, stressing the need to ensure the lab serves its purpose to benefit the community in Zambia and beyond.

The Research Data lab, located at the ZRA Headquarters in Lusaka, is a strategic investment in Zambia’s capacity to make smarter, evidence-based decisions.

The lab, established by ZRA with support from United Nations World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) will make available ZRA data to local and international researchers.

The Authority is hopeful that the data will inform tax policy and administration, as well as improve the quality of debate on tax matters.

And Mr. Banda has told staff in the Authority that there should be no compromise in the efficiency of operations of the Research Data lab as the development is a direct response to the Authority’s strategic call for a data or evidence-based approach to tax administration.
