The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has met with representatives from Chambers of Commerce and Industry on the Copperbelt.
ZRA Commissioner General, Dingani Banda led a team of ZRA Senior Management Members in meeting the business community in the mining province.
The meeting held in Kitwe this morning, helps to deepen mutual understanding, encourage voluntary compliance and ensure tax policies align with realities of business growth and sustainability.
The Commissioner General has emphasised ZRA’s resolve to support growth of businesses in the country while at the same time ensuring sustainable and enhanced revenue mobilisation.
Mr. Banda asked the business community to file returns, pay taxes and engage with the Authority for Time to Pay Agreements (TPAs), when faced with financial challenges.
The business community present at the meeting have described the engagement with ZRA as constructive, serving as a crucial avenue for dialogue.
Kitwe and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Alinani Simumba spoke on behalf of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry present, and said the meeting was a crucial avenue for dialogue, enabling the exchange of perspectives, identification of challenges and exploration of reform opportunities within the tax eco-system.
He thanked ZRA for being open to dialogue with the business community.
