The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) is hosting a two-day Media Training workshop aimed at equipping journalists with tax reporting skills.
45 participants have been drawn from Southern and Western Provinces, respectively. The workshop is also a platform to educate journalists on the vital role taxes play in supporting national development.
In his welcoming remarks, ZRA Corporate Communications Manager Oliver Nzala, encouraged journalists to help the public understand the importance of paying taxes and the benefits they provide through compelling stories.
He stated, “the media needs to convey to the Zambian people that public services from the government are made possible through tax contributions.”
Mr. Nzala also highlighted that as ZRA celebrates the month of integrity, it is essential for the media to join hands with the Authority in combating corruption and other illicit activities, thereby enhancing transparency and efficiency.
The 2-day workshop is taking place in Sesheke, Western province.
