The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) and the Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) have embarked on a collaborative initiative to improve tax compliance among manufacturers.
This collaboration demonstrates ZRA’s role in facilitating economic growth while ensuring a fair and predictable compliance environment.
ZRA Commissioner General Dingani Banda said the partnership aims to strengthen ties with the manufacturing sector and align with the Domestic Revenue Mobilization (DRM) agenda to advance industrialization initiatives.
Mr. Banda emphasized the sector’s significant contribution to Zambia’s economy, noting it ranks among the top five contributors to gross revenues.
“Manufacturers are critical partners in achieving national targets,” Mr. Banda stated.
Meanwhile, Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) President Muhammad Umar, echoed the importance of collaboration, expressing a readiness to work together to better compliance levels and provide tax education for association members.
“This collaboration will stimulate growth in the manufacturing sector and contribute to Zambia’s economic development,”he said.
Mr. Umar, further commended ZRA for measures it has taken to combat illicit trade.
