ZRA HOSTS WORKSHOP ON SIMPLICLEAR AND ASYCUDA INTERGRATION

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) is currently hosting a workshop organized by the African Union Development Agency (AUDA NEPAD) focused on the interoperability of the “SimpliClear” concept and ASYCUDA.


This collaborative effort marks a significant milestone in modernizing Zambia’s border management systems through digital transformation.


Director of Foreign Trade from the Ministry of Commerce,Trade and industry, Simon Ng’ona said with a commitment to the Government’s digital transformation blueprint, the workshop prioritizes inclusive digitization, secure systems, and regional integration aligned with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) objectives.


He encouraged participants to approach the work with urgency and purpose, ensuring that every technical decision made contributes to creating easier, faster, and more transparent trade for Zambians.


Meanwhile, Trade Facilitation Expert at AUDA NEPAD Marcel Ratsiu, added that the initiative aims to enhance trade processes for small-scale traders in Zambia and neighboring African countries which will streamline trade operations and facilitate smoother cross-border transactions.


“The successful development of the SimpliClear platform, is a comprehensive data governance framework, and user-friendly interface aligned with the Simplified Trade Regime,” he said.


The workshop will continue until 18th July, 2025.
