EMPLOYERS’ MUST PROVIDE TAXPAYER IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS IN THE PAY AS YOU EARN RETURN

The Zambia Revenue Authority wishes to remind its taxpayers that, from 1^st October 2022, it is a mandatory requirement for employers to provide their employees’ Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TPINs) in the monthly Pay As You Earn (PAYE) return under Part 2: List of Employees as per pay records.

Therefore, effective 1^st January, 2023, the Authority no longer accepts returns that do not comply with this requirement. Employers must ensure that every employee has a TPIN.
