Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner General Dingani Banda has welcomed the continued support and cooperation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the implementation of trade facilitation initiatives.
Speaking when he received a team of JICA officials, Mr. Banda said the Authority has benefitted from the support of JICA for enhancing trade facilitation.
Mr. Banda noted that ZRA has taken a step further to implement the electronic data exchange with different revenue authorities namely Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Malawi, Tanzania and now Zimbabwe.
And JICA Senior Advisor Customs Modernisation and Trade Facilitation, Tokuori Tomomi commended Zambia on its efforts of improving trade facilitation.
Ms. Tomomi noted that the Kazungula One Stop Border Post is a huge milestone for trade facilitation in the Southern African region.
ZRA therefore encourages traders to use the official border points like One Stop Border Points (OSBPs) where Customs officials are ready to expedite the clearance of goods.
