Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner General has pledged continued support to strengthen the Ministry of Health operations than ever before.
Speaking today when he donated seized Television sets, Fridges and Microwaves to the Ministry of Health, Dr Kingsley Chanda said that ZRA will continue focusing most of the Corporate Social Investment (CRI) to the health sector in order to support its operations especially in fighting the COVID 19 pandemic in the country.
Dr. Chanda further said that MOH has also been a beneficiary of various donations recently like cooking oil and motor vehicles.
And receiving the donation, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Kennedy Malama said that MOH is always grateful for the gesture of donations it has been receiving from ZRA to support its various operations.
He said that ZRA has become an all-weather friend to the health sector and has been responsive to the material and financial needs of the Ministry.
And when donating ethanol to the University of Zambia (UNZA) Dr. Chanda said ZRA has adopted a policy to work closely with Universities in finding solutions to local problems.
Dr. Chanda said UNZA has started producing hand sanitisers and uses a lot of ethanol in the laboratories for various operations.
Speaking when receiving the donation UNZA Vice Chancellor Professor Luke Mumba said ethanol is a key commodity not only in production of hand sanitisers but the entire science faculty to sterilise surfaces and equipment.
Professor Mumba further said UNZA is partnering with other organisations in manufacturing full body sanitisers which utilise ethanol.
Present during the event were; Commissioner Customs Services Mr. Sydney Chibbabbuka, Deputy Commissioner Support Mr. Wagner Chilembo, Director Administration Mr. Calitus Kaoma and other ZRA staff.
